If you're wondering why I prefer these SHUR FLO gutter guards over the others, the answer is simple. Aluminum gutter guards are just better. I've installed several different types, as well as removed and reinstalled just about every kind out there, during roof replacements and these aluminum gutter guards win in every single metric. Some other gutter guards are snap in, or are designed to go under the shingles themselves, or have a screen/or mesh on top that clog up or wear out over time...they all fail to perform as well as fixed aluminum gutter guards in my personal experience.

How do you cut vinyl with a table saw?what blade so you use?
Yeah that's not terrible but you aren't that fast.
“ your gonna want 1 or 2 more inches”. That’s what she said 😂 sorry had to do it. Great video btw thank you
You guys got your Cougar Paws on, lol? ?
The top 45 is wrong water can go in that 45 ..top should overlap the side .
It seems like them valley's are wrong because won't the bigger pannel get under them valley's?
Obviously gutter apron is made for the eaves, but it is not difficult to put drip edge on eaves whatsoever, unless you are genuinely doing this work for the first time ever. You acted as if it is very hard to get it over the gutter, which it is not
Hope you fired Brandon...
Nice accessory for certain situations but i prefer roof brackets with planks. Sometimes when its not broke dont try to fix it. Thx for you service
very helpful. thank you.
Your good but I did 45 in a day no tosser my best day
Very good video. Thanks for teaching your skills. I’m a retired commercial electrician that wound up in the Audio Visual industry and learned how to work with metal studs and tin snips way back in the day. Now I’m putting coil stock and vinyl on my shed. I’m trying to figure out how to cut an inside corner bend with tin snips and then saw you use the scribe and break method. You made my day fella. Thanks for your service to our country as well.🫵🏼🫵🏼🫵🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🛢️🛢️🛢️🛢️🛢️
👍👍👍
5-5/8",11-1/4", and 16-7/8". Cut each one from a full shingle and you have a 6 cut pieces That is called a book. . A book establishes your pattern. Take those 6 pieces and a full shingle down to the corner and nail them down. You can precut all your books and never have to use you hook till you get to the other gable.
That may be impressive to people that dont know any better but that was far from impressive for any roofer. Neither one of you is the G.O.A.T. not even close, just like your hip cuts😲. What do you cut up bundles of 3 tab to use for your hip cap cause standard hip& ridge isn't going to cover up those cuts. I watch all these videos of people that think their top of the game and i have to ask. Have you not worked with any other roofers before? I have worked with hundreds of different roofers in the last 25 years and im not seeing anything spectacular in this video.
Too bad you don’t know how to roof.
👍👍👍👍
Good. Thanks.
Great video!
Very informative. That vet throws those bundles around like a hero.
haha thank you
Yep he went there
Hi Man. Take care of yourself when on roof.
your helper should be starting the nailing from the center of the panel , if the panel is hanging your siding will be off.
Practice, practice, hand nail last hip so your sure your hitting something. Step flash along house wall. The more you do the better you will get
Establish your straight lines by going off the sheathing or plywood . No math involved
Sloppy valley work and nail placement. Some shingles too short. 45yrs doing roofing but if it keeps the water out I guess its perfect
Bruh. Vinyl J around the windows is amateur hour. Wrap them with aluminum. 👈
That's only for replacement windows.. lol even if you wrap it you need J on it too so??....unless you are bending a built in channel... but that's weird. also, why add something that 1) doesn't need to be there 2) easily shows scratches, dings and hail damage and 3) is useless added material cost. Just seems goofy to me
My wraps have built-in J. I can wrap any window. New, old, doesn’t matter. Yes, it is an added expense, but worth it imho. Ben siding houses for over 20 years in the Finger Lakes region of NYS. That’s just how we do it here. 🤷♂️
Also, I make my J separate from the wrap. I don’t install the wrap until the wall is complete. That way there’s no chance to damage it. Especially the sills.
I will say that your J instructions are spot-on. That’s how I run J as well.
Putting screws on the shingles side of the gutter guard is sheer suicide. Water will find its way below the screw deteriorating the wood below it causing leaks in the ceiling always install screws on the gutter side the front so you don’t cause roof leak problems.
i didn't screw the shingles. its through the gutter apron and the screw is really short.
@@NWIVeteranConstruction my bad sorry
Maybe i should come work for you for a month and show your guys how to lay shingles. You pay by the square?
You'd get worked lol welcome to try though
@@NWIVeteranConstruction All bullshit aside . I would put bus links on the guy I see laying shingles.
Why not bend it over the peak instead of leaving a gap in the 2 pieces?
you can do that if you want but it's not necessary and can make it look bulky. also, its just more layers between your nail and the wood.
You're kidding me, the worlds fastest shingler? I just watched the first 10 minutes of this video . Back when I first started shingling we used what they called a stripper to hand nail the shingles, I would install 15 to 23 squares a day. when we started using air guns in the early 80s it didn't matter the size of the roof it would get finished that day. I just don't see the speed here
I installed 40 square exactly, completely alone on a roof. In 1 day. And it was hot out. Giant roof, you can see the proof. I'm actually submitting the video to Guinness at some point because I know it's the most shingles ever installed by one lone roofer in a day. Quality anyway lol and prove-able. I look slow but if you're shingling that often you know you have to pace yourself. I like to keep a 9-12 minute square pace in the open
What if it rains?
Good work just a bit of advice from a fellow roofer your back might start hurting standing bent over like that for long periods of time Id use an old couch cushion to kneel down on 😜
have you tried the pitch hopper?
What an excellent show, thanks for all you guys do
i appreciate that
Good work caveman 💪💪
thanks bro
cant take that woman seriously 😅 i prefer the push to connect blue fittings("puematic rated"🤣) to try keep flow close to factory but whatever is on sale gets installed quick in so many ways, thx for demo
i'll have to try that out. and she's the bomb! lol
I've always struggled with how to finish "birdboxes". You did a great job explaining it.
Thank you! 😊
and now you have a hose that will snag on EVERYTHING
I usually duct tape it afterwards But you're right.
They have barbed fittings that require no hose clamps
And yes they're rated for over 150 PSI
Need that
🍆 spit on that thang
I like undersill, just for a little added protection.
100%
This is the best shingling series I've found. Absolute beginner that decided to build a 12' x 12' shed with zero experience. I'm ready to take on that roof now. Only thing missing was installing the ridge cap. I've seen videos using 3-tab, but not architectural shingles.
Don't use architectural. You have to buy cap itself, it comes perforated and breaks apart clean. I have a UA-cam short installing it and I also have videos you can see me do it.
Yep, figured that out. Had to do some searching because box stores didn’t have any to match my shingles. Will be watching your cap video tonight. Thank you!
You are an excellent teacher🔥. Thanks for passing the on this knowledge, God Bless you and yours❤🙌!
I appreciate that! Happy to help
It’s amazing how you got so many bundles that are not stuck together up in the north east I don’t know what it is but 60% of the bundles are a struggle they just stick together so you can’t really pull them apart with one hand
it wasn't that hot this day, i find that as long as its in the lower to mid 70's with intermittent sun there's not too much of a problem. but this day they did get bad! so bad that i actually turned every bundle on the roof upside down in hopes that the top half (hot half) would be on bottom and then maybe it would even out. seemed to work. but i tried it once since then with no luck lol
man fuck that dude making all the noise.
Lmao
lol are we not talking about this dude in his Nike slide!!?
oh they're talkin about it lol old timer whipped me up in a sandal
Now you have the time to make a good how too video keep up the good job
Maybe he installed ice and water as he went, but it wasn’t shown in the video but the nails that close to the edge of the neck shingle seem not good he’s not paying attention he probably knows better, but he’s not paying attention. I think the person who’s videotaping him should be catching those, oh well what can you do? He is still a good roofer. I’m not saying that he’s a bad roofer I don’t like that valley to me and of people and contractors. I know will never do that. It’s either in open valley or California cut.
Oh, I didn’t see this guy run a single course of ice and water or a single course of ice and water up the valley now may be in his area you guys get no snow whatsoever but shit nothing in the valley didn’t even see his lower edge I mean this must be Midwest or down south application. You ain’t roofing like that in the north east and I looked close enough to see some of of his nailing in the valley, he had nails 2 to 3 inches from the seam of a shingle that’s a leak for sure
